Submission Document Checklist
- Fire alarm system layout with device schedule
- Sprinkler or suppression system layout, with hydraulic calculations where applicable
- Emergency lighting and illuminated exit signage plan
- Egress/escape route plan showing travel distances
- Material data sheets for fire-rated components
- Kitchen hood suppression system detail (for any commercial kitchen)
- LPG gas system drawings (separate submission, if the premises uses LPG)
- Trade licence or pre-approval letter

- Building owner or management NOC confirming compatibility with existing fire systems
Site Inspection Checklist
- Fire alarm panel and detector activation test
- Sprinkler or suppression system flow/discharge test
- Emergency lighting operation confirmed on mains failure
- Illuminated exit signage present and functional at every designated egress point
- Fire extinguishers correctly tagged, positioned, and within service date
- Escape routes unobstructed and matching the approved egress plan exactly
- Kitchen suppression system tested (commercial kitchens)

The Fastest Path to First-Pass DCD Approval
The single biggest driver of approval speed is submitting a complete package that matches the physical site exactly — a drawing set missing hydraulic calculations, or an egress plan that doesn't match what's actually built, is the most common reason a first review comes back with a technical query instead of an approval. Submitting the LPG system drawings as a separate parallel application from day one (rather than treating it as an afterthought) also avoids a common multi-week delay, since LPG approval runs on its own review track.
