What Each Status Stage Means
- Submitted: the application has entered the queue but technical review hasn't started
- Under Review: a DM engineer is actively checking the submission against drawing and compliance standards
- Technical Query Raised: the reviewing engineer needs a correction or additional document before proceeding — visible in the portal's engineer notes
- Approved: the permit is issued and available for download
- Rejected: the application did not meet requirements and needs a fresh resubmission, not just a correction
What to Do If Your Status Hasn't Changed
If your application has sat in "Under Review" well beyond the typical timeline for your permit type, check the engineer's notes section in the portal first — a technical query is sometimes logged there before the formal status label updates. If there's genuinely no movement and no query logged, this is usually a sign the submission needs a nudge through your registered consultant rather than a portal-side issue — engineers work through a queue, and complex submissions can sit longer without an automatic status change to reflect that.
